This was the first tour of the Golden Age Travels. We were six of us, my daughter, Mona joined later, so total seven guests. We had booked the hotel Mango Prangan in Bhubaneswar which was very close to the railway station. The hotel was good, but a little expensive and the rooms were small in size. It is believed that Vishwakarma made this idol of lord Krishna which was later discovered by Madhavacharya, the great devotee of Lord Krishna. Mother Yashoda, the foster mother of Shri Krishna enjoyed his baal leela of Shri Krishna, but mother Devaki could not. So to honour his mothers wish, Shri Krishna took the form of child and demonstrated all his playful activities. Mother Devaki was overjoyed, Rukmini, Krishna's wife also adored the Baal leela. She requested Krishna to make an idol of Bala Krishna. Vishwakarma made the idol with the holi Saligram stone. Demon Kamhasura got the boon from Lord Shiva that no male can kill him. He started troubling Gods and sages and also disrupted the penance of sage Kola who was performing pooja to Shiva Linga. Sage Kola prayed to Godess Parvati for help. She took the form of Trishool-Nayaki to kill him. The demon Kamhasura came to know that he will be killed by a female Goddess, so he again started praying to Lord Shiva. When Lord Shiva appeared in front of him to fulfill his desire, Devi Parvati made him dumb (mooka) so that he could not ask for a boon, from then the demon was known as Mookasura. Goddess Parvati with the help of Veerabhadra killed him, the place where Mookasura was killed is now called Marna Katte. The village Kollur is named after the sage Kola who was shown the Swarnalekha Lingam by none other than Lord Shiva.
