My visit to Basar - Jul 2017

10th July 2017

I started at 7 AM by cab to Secunderabad station. We were travelling by Nagarvalli train to Basar. I planned this trip with my dear friends Priya and Jayanti. Actually Priya and I had planned to go to Jagdalpur on 25th July but Mona bought South India trip tickets so we had to cancel our trip and compromised with this short trip.

The train had arrived on platform no 6, it was completely empty. We had a very nice journey. Jayanti had bought Idli and Priya got upma for breakfast. We kept chatting, there were only two stations in between - Nizamabad and Kamareddy. The train reached at 12:30PM. We hired an auto and reached Harita resort. We had done online booking A/C 4 bed room. There was nobody in the hotel, just the three of us, but the hotel was nice with a lovely view. They had to clean room number 216, so they asked us to have lunch. As we were looking for restaurants, one police suggested that we have Bhog Prasad. So we had hot rice, curry, brinjal curry, sambar and majjiga. Overall food was good and we were very hungry. We went back to the hotel, relaxed for a while, took bath and went to temple. It is not as big as I had imagined. As it was a weekday, teh temple was also very empty. After that we took an auto and went to see Godavari backwaters. It was not very clean and bats were also with bamboo rods. We did not get into the boat. There was a staute of Ganga Devi in front of Godavari river and a Shiva temple. We came back to our room and again went at 7 o' clock to see Aarti. The hall was full, it was nearly half an hour aarti, we had to sit down. After that we went to the laddoo counter as ot closes by 8PM. We bought 6 laddoos, then went to a nearby restaurant. As it was dark and the roads were deserted, we hired an auto to go back to our hotel. We slept well.

11th July 2017

I woke up by 3:30 AM, it had rained heavily at night. We want to have tea in the morning, then took a shower and went to Vyasa MUni cave. We did not enter the cave as it was very dark and steep. We clicked some pictures and then had idli for breakfast. We had already booked an auto at 9:45AM. He charged Rs.50, took us to station. Devagiri express was late by 30 mins. The train was crowded, we had lunch and then I went to the upper berth to relax. The train reached Hyderabad at 3 PM, booked a cab and reached home by 4 PM.
